Pike Fishing

Following on from increased temperature rises in the early months of the season a majority vote meant that Pike Fishing would be unavailable on all club waters until 1st October 2023. So a total ban on pike Fishing from 16th June to !st October will come into immediate effect on our waters.

This has been implemented to try to preserve the welfare of pike in these rising temperatures.

Regrettably, there has been a fish kill on the River Delph with dead fish either side of the road bridge. Fish ranging from 1/2lb perch to 5lb Bream, currently about 20+ fish. Reported to the EA hotline this morning and hopefully they will respond in due course. Please report any further incidents direct to the EA on 0800 807060

Rule change

As from the 16th of June 2021 no night fishing will be allowed on any of the Welney Angling Club waters. This rule change was driven by the very poor behaviour of a small number of anglers. See all club rules in the membership card.
